First Days of School

Ashlyn
Ashlyn started Summit on August 20th.  I knew she'd have a hard time adjusting and to make it easier on mommy, we started a week before the kids came back to Wylie!  She has rough drop offs in the morning, doesn't sleep at nap, and needs her baby and blankie most of the day, but she is adjusting.  She only goes three days a week since Bebe watches her on Thursday and Friday, so I imagine Mondays will be hard for awhile after being at home for four days!  Following Caiden's footsteps with the separation issues.
Practicing laying in her new napsac!

Ashlyn's first day of school!

On the way home-wahoo!!!

Caiden
A few days before school started, Caiden got to meet his K teacher, Mrs. Dailey!  He was so excited to come to "mommies" school!  He had a great first day of school, bought his lunch (holy cow!) and decided it was a good thing he would be in the same class for a long time!  I wasn't too sad...more happy that he is with me and I get to see him everyday!  Mrs. Whitney is in the K hallway so he has a second mommy watching out for him =)

Playing in mom's room after school!

Concert BUST

We went to Brad Paisley with the assumption we would be in the rain.  The radar looked awful and we were prepared with our ponchos!  We tailgated for about 30 minutes, packed up to tailgate in the cars for an hour and a half when the rain rolled in, then finally decided to just do it!  Except, as we were getting out the cars, mobs of people were exiting Gexa.  Huh?  Tickets say rain or shine so we really weren't prepared for the concert to get cancelled.  Yup, it got cancelled...something about the stage leaking and it being a safety hazard for the band.  Whatever...we went to dinner in our ponchos!

Chilet's Baby Shower

Cooper's shower turned out so cute...we coordinated the food items to books and had people substitute a card for a children's book to build Cooper's library.  I had never pulled this off before, but it worked out GREAT!  We can't wait to see baby Cooper!

Sea World

Jon and I get free admission into Sea World for being a teacher-wahoo!  Since we had to pick him up from coaching school anyways, we made a day of it and got to spend more time with Casey, Steven, and Connor!  It was hot, but sitting in the shade for shows, and playing in the water at the Bay of Play made it bearable!  We had a great time and loved the new addition to the park!  Caiden got to feed the Sea Lions-a huge highlight to the trip!  We watched Shamu and saw another show with dolphins and lots of acrobatic diving.  Although he was able to ride the kid rides in the Bay of Play, I think Caiden's favorite was getting to ride The Journey to Atlantis with Jon!

Cousins!

After the beach, we dropped Jon off in San Antonio and got to spend some time at Aunt Casey's house!  The kids are so funny together!  We love cousin Connor!!!

Corpus

We had the best mini vacation at the beach with the Steward family!  Caiden doesn't remember the trip to Mexico so this was like his first beach trip all over!  We are ever so grateful for our hotel and meals to be paid for (thanks Debbie!) and to be able to spend time together!

As soon as we got to Corpus and dropped the bags in the room, the kids wanted to go to the beach.  It was almost dinner time so we agreed to walk down and LOOK.  Whoops-didn't happen...eveyone wanted in!

Ashlyn was NOT a fan of the sand!  She loved being in the water, but wanted nothing to do with the sand!  We made a little progress though!
Step one...sand in the cup.
Step two...feet down.
Step three...walking (but not happy).
Step four...on a mat, in the sand.
Step five...playing!

 My morning workout view!

We decided to do the beach at sunrise on our last day because we only had a few hours, we didn't have to fight the sun, and there was nobody out!  Too bad we didn't think about doing it that way everyday!
