Thanksgiving Break...

Having a week off of school has been WONDERFUL!

Caiden had his ENT check-up for the tubes in his ears with a new ENT (who we found out was the brother of my OBGYN!) and he had an allergist appointment. His ears looked great, tubes still in both ears! He was tested for ants and of course it came out positive, but it's not a severe reaction. We have to dope him up with Benadryl when we think he gets bit and keep the Epi-pen around for an emergency.

On Sunday, our friends Jon and Chilet made us lunch and we watched the Cowboys game and then on Monday, we went out to Flower Mound to visit my high school friend and her two boys. Caiden had a blast playing with Jake (or at least playing with Jake's toys!)

Sister came in town Wednesday and came to babysit with Bebe and Poppy so Jon and I could go to dinner and see a movie. We wanted to go see Fireproof but it was already out of the theaters. So, instead of seeing Twilight for the third time, I settled for seeing Four Christmases instead. Very funny!

We woke up early on Thanksgiving to head out to the Turkey Trot, a tradition Jon, my sister, and myself have started. Bebe came to watch Caiden b/c I just wasn't in the mood to push a stroller through 34,000 people (and it was cold)! We went to mom and dads after Caiden's nap and watched the Cowboy's game and ate our turkey meal. Caiden HATED sweet potatoes and didn't want any part of eating a traditional meal (he's such a picky eater!) Sister had to celebrate her birthday with the Pilgrims and Indians and she was not happy!

Friday we drove down to Austin to spend some time with Jon's mom for her Birthday, and to see his sister Casey.

It's hard to believe we have to go back to work on Monday! But, only three weeks and then we have two weeks off for Christmas!!!

Tonight's the Night!!!

Tonight we pull the all-nighter to go see Twilight at midnight. Since I'm used to getting in bed by 9pm, this will be a little bit of a challenge staying up but I am ready! We haven't quite figured out if we're going to sleep from 3-5:30 or just go to IHOP until it's time to come home and get the kids ready! Friday is the day before our Thanksgiving Break, and it's a FRIDAY, so I'll be able to deal with no sleep for one day =)

I've started the second book in the series and have no doubt I'll be done before Thanksgiving! Go get it if you haven't read it...it's amazing.

Twilight

OMG...I can not believe how drawn in to this book I was. People who know me well, know I am not a fan of science fiction and vampire stuff. But, holy cow, the conversations and media surrounding this book really got me curious. Several teachers at my school have been reading the series and are going to see the movie as soon as it comes out.

So, I bit the dust, and asked my friend Amy if I could borrow her copy (THANK YOU!!!) I told myself I was going to try to get into it know it was not my typical read. I read a few pages at work and was pretty interested and could not wait to get home to start really reading.

I read a few pages here and there, and then read from 8pm-1am. I could NOT find a stopping point, nor did I want to! I finished the book this morning...all 498 pages in less than 24 hours! I was hooked. Only once have I been that intrigued with a book (The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks) and it was SO fun reading something that had me so consumed.

Needless to say, a co-worker and I are going at 12:02 am Friday morning to see the movie and I can't wait! There are three more books in the series and I am TRYING so hard not to start book two until I see the movie.

If you are not a science fiction person, I still highly recommend you read this book. More than anything, it is a love story, and that's the part that suckered me in!

Camping

We went to Hickory Creek Park off of Lake Lewisville with our friends Chilet, Jon, and Austin this weekend. It was by far, way better than the park we always go to here at Lake Lavon. Trees were everywhere and Chilet and I took two walks along the trails. We were close to the playground and we had the bounce house so the little boys were quite happy! Caiden loves to be outside with or without toys so he was in heaven! The nights were cold and Caiden got to wear his first pair of gloves and hat. We had a fire at night and made Smores =)
