We Have NO Hot Water...Opps!

In the middle of everything going on with the move, we forgot to hook up our gas. I noticed when I gave Caiden a bath on Sat. night that the hot really wasn't hot. I just figured the previous owners rigged it somehow in the kids bathroom so nobody got burnt. Well, not the case at all! We realized Sunday morning that we didn't have hot water either. Unfortunately, we can't get it turned on until Tuesday =( So, we're suffering through cold showers (and quick ones) until then!

This is my last week of class...yahoo! I have a 20 minute presentation on Tuesday, need to scan through my 39 page action research paper, write a reflective summary, and then present a short creative project on Thursday and then I'm FREE! It's not going fast enough!

Sister in Vegas

Our New House!!!

We closed on our house today and the fun begins tomorrow! We are borrowing a truck and trailer from our friends Shannon and Scott to get a head start on all the boxes Thursday. Then, Jon got some of his coaching friends to help with the furniture on Friday. It will be two, long, hot days but well worth it once we're moved in. Stop by, we'd love some company!

Homeless

Until the closing tomorrow morning on our new house, we are officially homeless! The new owners of our current house are leasing it back to us until Saterday so we have some time to get out! We are so excited to move into a larger house that our family can grow into instead of explode out of. We'll post pictures of the new house soon =)

Meanwhile, I am still pushing my way through this last class. It is a beating with non-stop, never-ending assignments. I can't wait until next Thursday!!!

Caiden's First Boat Trip!

The Kovitch's were so nice and let us take Caiden out on their boat tonight. We had a very relaxing time and had fun riding in the tube! Caiden loved the motion and noise on the water and was so calm the entire trip. He even got to go tubing =) We ended the trip waiting to dock because of the mysterious cops (and the gun shot!) not letting back on shore. Still not sure what that was about but Caiden got to stay up until 9:30 because of it!

Swimming Party!

Tonight we went over to our friends Shannon and Scott's house to swim and cookout. I had their oldest son Trevor in third grade several years ago and not Shannon and I do water aerobics together! Jon with with Scott to get some "specialty popcorn" which you'll see showcased below. For $18 dollars a bag we felt like it should sit on the mantle for a night =)

Our Trip to the Zoo

We decided to have a family day today and went to the Dallas Zoo. Caiden had a blast running around although he didn't have too much interest looking at the animals! He LOVED playing in the water in the Kid Zone and wore himself out running around. We got there early and there were hardly any people. We were expecting rain this morning but it turned out to be a cool, rain-free morning...it was a well worth trip into Dallas!

After the zoo we went to eat the the McDonald's down the road and had fun playing in the zoo themed play area! All of the commotion and activity FINALLY got him to take a nap (he has decided the past week or so that he didn't need naps anymore) He was passed out within 3 minutes of the car ride home =)

This Father's Day we went to mom and dad's and spent the afternoon with the Littrell's, our neighbors from when we lived in Highland Village. It was so good to see everyone and we are so thankful that we could all be together. Jared just go home from Afghanistan after being away for 15 months.

Sister came in town for the weekend to help us pack and we had some friends over to the house on Sat. night. After some pool time at the Kovitch's we ordered pizza and played washers!

However, after a few minutes he gets bored and figures out a new game to play!

It's Raining

Caiden insisted that he go outside to play with his "dalk" (sidewalk chalk) but it was raining. He kept going over to the door so I finally just decided to open it and show him that it was raining. I was under the impression that he would be like Buster and not go outside. Nope, I was wrong. He walked right out and LOVED it! I guess he thought it was like the water hose but better =)

Neither one made it much farther than this up the playground! (That's a good thing...I didn't want to see Julie in her dress, 7 months pregnant climbing through to rescue Jake!)

Caiden and I met Julie and Jake (and Baby Cole!) and McDonald's for our first summer playdate. We knew we had to get it in early or we'd never get together! We seem to have the hardest time meeting up with each other (and no one died this time either!)
