Chug-a-Chug-a Choo Choo!

We took Caiden on the Dart Train for the first time today while Aunt TT was still in town.  Caiden sang the Chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-choo-choo song multiple times on the train! We rode down to Mockingbird Station and ate at Margarita Ranch (yummy!)

Happy Birthday Bebe!

Sister came in town and we celebrated Bebe's birthday at "Bebe and Poppy's" park on Sat night.  Caiden loves it there!  The weather was perfect and we had a great time outdoors.  We went back to their house for cake!

A Busy Saturday

Holy cow...getting a haricut is not an easy thing!  Jon has cut Caiden's hair for almost 2 years at home and he screams each time.  So, we finally decided to try going to get his hair cut.  Not any better!  He told us he was scared of the sound.  We know it doesn't hurt, so he must truly be scared of the noise!  I'll admit, it's much easier having someone from the outside cutting his hair.  Daddy gets mad at him when it won't be still at home!

After getting a haircut, we stopped by Mimi's to visit her for a little while.  She is doing so much better and her hair is growing in pretty good!  She no longer has 24 hour care and can get around on her own using a walker.  We are so proud of her accomplishments and thankful she has healed so well!
Caiden likes going over there because he always gets treats and loves playing with Mimi's flags!  He found her flashlight this time too!  It somehow became "my flashlight" within a matter of minutes but we were able to get him to put it back on our way out the door!

We met Nick for dinner at Applebee's and then stopped at Dairy Queen for some ice cream.  I caved and got a chocolate extreme blizzard (oops...17.5 points-my dinner was only 6!) but it was delicious!  Caiden had a chocolate sundae and LOVED every bite (except the ones Jon and I stole when Caiden wasn't looking so he didn't eat it all!)  He was hyper on the car ride home!

We originally had plans to take Caiden on the DART train and out to eat at Mockingbird Station, but the weather didn't want to cooperate.  We decided to save that for another day when it's not so yucky outside!

Exciting News

While Brenda was up here for Mother's Day weekend, she had an interview for a management position at the Dallas office of her company.  She found out Friday that she got the job and will be moving to Dallas!  We are so excited for her and that she will be closer to us!  Another free babysitter for Caiden!!! WaHoo!

On the Bus with Poppy!

Caiden has had a fascination with school buses lately.  When I pick him up in the afternoon, we see a ton of them when we pass the high school and he always wants to "touch it!"  So, I finally got the genius idea of taking him to the end of Poppy's bus run so he could see a bus up close!  Caiden LOVED it.  Poppy even took him on a ride around the neighborhood!  He was scared at first from the noise of the engine but loved looking out the window at the horses along the way.  He helped Poppy put the windows up when we got back to the school and even lock the door!
Thanks Poppy!

A Day with Grandma!

Grandma taught Caiden how to paint!
Since Brenda was in town for an extra day Caiden got to stay home with Grandma today.  I'm sure she was tired by the end of the day, but Caiden had a great time!  He loved painting and even wanted to do it again when I got home so he could show me his new talent!  He loved the blue and green!

The Austin Crew Comes to Dallas!

Brenda, Casey, and Steven drove up to spend the weekend with us and we had a blast!  I ate way TOO much but enjoyed every bit of it!  Caiden loved getting to spend some time with his Grandma and Aunt Casey!  We celebrated Mother's Day on Sat. night with both of our moms and Caiden made his grand entrance with the gifts saying, "Happy Birthday!"  He didn't quiet get it!

Playing the bouncy ball game with grandma!

Thanks Aunt Casey for buying the cupcakes!

Monday Funday!

Despite the scare of the swine flu that's got several school districts and lots of schools closed for 2 WEEKS (not mine or Jon's-go figure!) we're still getting out and having some fun.  And, since it's teacher appreciation week at school, and I have no self-control when food is involved, I ate WAY to much Mexican for lunch.  Therefore, I decided that walking to and from work wasn't enough. After Michele and I walked in the gym, I thought I'd take Caiden on another walk and go to the park.  I hadn't seen Tiffany and Reagan in a long time so we met them at the park to play!  Caiden loves watching Reagan and I think showing off for her too!  The weather was perfect outside.  Caiden and I spotted several rabbits on the walk home.  Daddy came home just in time to eat dinner with us outside and then we cut the grass.  Caiden helped with his lawn mower too!  Outside all afternoon-LoVeD it!
